Click on the following:Learn what the petitions really say If you've signed the petitions . . . Register to Vote (information on how to register to vote) Learn what the petitions really say:We believe the group, Citizens for the Future of High Ridge, has been untruthful about the intent of the petitions. In fact there is no predatory attempt by Byrnes Mill to annex High Ridge. The petition for Byrnes Mill (that you were asked to sign or have signed) is sponsored by the Citizens for the Future of High Ridge. So you were asked to sign a petition that requests Byrnes Mill to consider annexing High Ridge. Byrnes Mill will have one year to consider the option and may act upon it. Again, this is not Byrnes Mill's initiative but rather the Citizens for the Future of High Ridge. For further information regarding this, please click Petitions. Although the petitions are written with legal verbiage, it does not require a legal degree to get the gist of what the petitions say. We have been told of misleading statements having been made by those who offer the petitions with regard to the intent of the initiatives. Always read anything before you sign it -- do not trust what the person is telling you who is asking you to sign it regardless of how sincere they may seem. When the Byrnes Mill annexation initiative comes to the ballot, don't blame Byrnes Mill. The petition was handed to them by the Citizens for the Future of High Ridge with signatures from High Ridge residents! Top of PageIf you've signed the petitions . . .It is our understanding that after the petitions are submitted to the County or to Byrnes Mill, you will be unable to request that your signature be removed. However, there are actions you can take if you feel that you have been lied to by those requesting your signature or if you have simply changed your mind now that you have examined the facts. One recommendation would be to write those elected officials who are addressed in the petitions. Contact them and tell them of your experience regarding the information you were given at the time of signature. We would also like your feedback regarding your experience -- please send comments to contactus@highridgefacts.org or via the ContactUs page. Copies of the petitions are provided here on this site for you to read.
