March 18, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The April 7, 2009, election will put the Sugar Creek Hills initiative on the ballot for a vote. The Town Hall Meetings will address the benefits and provide opportunities for discussion. Top of PageIf you've signed the petitions . . .Unfortunately, it is too late to withdraw your name from the Sugar Creek Hills petition for incorporation if you changed your mind. Once the County Commissioners approve the request and it is printed on the ballot, it will go to a vote. Always read anything before you sign it. Petitions are legal documents and require notarization for removal of names. However, you can vote. Top of PageVote:When these initiatives come up for a vote, it is absolutely imperative that you get to the polls to vote. If you are not registered to vote, register. We are asking all who read this to weigh the benefits of incorporation. If you agree that the benefits aren't there, vote NO on the proposed city initiatives. Don't let pro-incorporation groups sneak this initiative on the ballot without your vote; you'll only get one chance to vote it down. Once a city is voted in, it is in. Send them the link in an e-mail. If they don't have a computer, suggest they visit the local library to access it. Or, print out pages from this web site and give it to them to read.
