Notice on this page, that there are fees to remodel, build fences, put in retaining walls, excavate and put in driveways, etc. The fees are based on either square footage or a cost to be determined. It isn't enough that you work hard and save money to improve your property, but the City charges you for it.
They even require a permit for a yard sale, and you are limited to only 5 per year. In this City, you would be required to call before starting your fire and you would not be allowed to have bonfires larger than 3'X3'.
Notice also that there is an ordinance for noxious weeds and unattended vegetation. Who would the City hire to determine what a noxious weed is or unattended vegetation? For those of us who are gardeners or herbalists, we would be targeted by such an ordinance. Many medicinal and herbal plants would fall within their definition and this would limit our freedom and ability to experiment with plants of various origins and qualities.
I know a man living in a nearby city that was required to mow over his tomato plants because they were considered a weed.
In addition, those with larger properties that have fields, would they be subject to keeping their field cut to within 7 inches?
